December 1, 2013

Sunday
It was a beautiful Sabbath Day. We went to all of church and it was so good see everyone and say good-by and feel the strength of the ward behind us.  We are part of them, and we feel their strength.
The Riverside history books came, so we took the rest of them (about 80). They were gone before Sunday School started. We ordered more. I'm so glad we did it.
After church we went home, ate quickly, and we decided to ride with Pete and Tammy to Farmington to ordain Steven a Deacon and John a Teacher. I can't believe that Steven is now 12 and John 14. Everyone is growing so quickly. We got home and then went to our setting apart at 5:30.
It was a wonderful, spiritual evening. I think I'm going to write it up for a story.
Then everyone came over for ice cream sundaes and I love how the kids play together so well. It was midnight by the time we got to bed. Thank you kids for getting everything straightened up before everyone left.
The first day at the MTC has its own post,so check it out.

Monday - Thusday
Our district at the MTC - Our district leader was Wynn and Ila Mae John's son, Marvin, from Portage.

It is winter down here. We got such a snow storm and then it turned so cold.

It would be fun to see how many pictures we could locate with our family in front of this picture when we took them as we delivered each of you to the MTC. Except for Ellen and Mike. They didn't let us in by then.

Wednesday night we went to the Art Museum on campus. It was an amazing exhibit and I would encourage you to go. It is there until the middle of February. There were works of Carl Bloch and two others. They are very famous pictures that I grew up with in the early Primary/Sunday School pictures. It is free, but print off a ticket at 'Sacred Gifts' probably BYU has to be in there also.

Friday
We left the MTC about 1:00 and drove to Jorgen's in Denver by way of I-80. We had at least one lane of the freeway mostly clear the whole way and NO WIND. That was such a blessing.
It was good to see Jorgen and Natalie again. We left shortly before 11 and drove the rest of the way across Colorado and across Kansas to Topeka.
Our hotel lobby at the downtown Ramada in Topeka, Kansas. It was amazing accommodations. Thank you again, Emily

I sent one email to the older grandkids and I will send an email with more details to each of you. This one has the pictures, which I apologize are few. We were quite busy and had our mind on other things at the MTC and yes, the food was great!!!
Tomorrow we will be in Independence, MO
