Arizona babysitting trip and more pillowcases, 16 June 2015

A Week in HOT (Wonderful) Arizona!
1. This sign was just outside our guest bedroom (provided by a nocturnal Audrey who didn't use it at night anyway) and drawn by Elise and Nikki!!!

2. Lacey and the older girls left early Monday morning for YW camp.
The three younger kids, Sammi, Chloe, and Levi along with Grandma and Grandpa had fun out in the backyard. Sammi and Chloe dug and dug in the sandpile.
 3. Levi in the sandpile

4. Summer in Arizona means swimming time!!!
This is Swimming Sammi:) - You should see her do the Butterfly stroke!

5. On Wacky Wednesday we went to Sonic for lunch.
Chloe, Sammi, Grandpa, Levi

6. Chloe in the swimming pool. She swam clear across the swimming pool.
She was scared, but she got brave and did it anyway.

7. When Audrey has to do chores, she puts on her music, has a headset on
from the insistence of her father, and sings at the top of her lungs
"Welcome to New York"

8. Elise had her birthday on Monday, so we celebrated it after they got home.
Yes, she did get a new Wii game, "Sonic & All-Stars Racing"
Soon the house was filled with laughter and excitement.
"It's a funny version of Mario Cart and is an extremely weird game," said Elise
Singing Happy Birthday to our 14 year old Elise.
The cake was a strawberry flavored cake with chocolate frosting.
(Who also went to her first Stake dance along with Audrey.)

9. Levi loved the birthday cake. It was so fun to spend time and get to know little Levi.
And yes, he can say Grandma and Grandpa

10. Sewing time again. We made pillowcases with the three younger kids on Monday
and now we made three pillowcases with the YW girls.
While at JoAnne's, Nikki wanted to get every material to make a skirt with. She wanted all the sparkley, snakeskin, roses on top $30 a yard material.
However, we found some silky, pretty material that was on a sale, so we made skirts!

11. Time for a "Selfie." Here is what Nikki said about it:
Did you know that if you take a selfie with more than one person its called a wefie? :)

12. We all three made matching skirts.

13. All six pillow cases. Audrey wants to tell you this about her pillowcase:
It is a Doctor Who (Not Dr. Who lookin' at you Grandma) pillowcase with music notes at the top.
Audrey, Elise, Nikki, Levi, Sammi, Chloe.
14. By Elise: This is what happens to anyone who tries to take my leftover
birthday cake while I am eating it. Grandpa tells you about how long it has
been since he last held you. He saved my cake.

15. Our cute little Levi. Nikki took this picture, so this is what she says:
Hi, if you want to see more of this little cute boy then come live by us. our neighbors ran away from us so we need some more. my dad has gladly said he would buy the house for you(as long as you pay him back). so come live by us. we would love it. :) I love you, I beat.

I have had such a wonderful week here with Paul's family. We've made
pillowcases with all the far away family, so hopefully we can set some
"sewing" days with those close by.
Remember the family reunion on the 19 & 20th at Earley Park.
Also, Joe will be in on the 25th, so watch for some get togethers the next week while he is here. Tesha and the kids will be here until the 11th of July.
Paul and his family will be in from the 3rd of July 13th.
I am very open to some get togethers. It would be fun to get together as adults. I missed the one last year. Elise said she would babysit everybody.
(Elise Says: I never said that. I said where would all the kids go!!!!)
I would love to babysit everyone said NIKKI :) hi
Sammi made this.

I love you all very much.

Cierra graduates, Oliva baptized, AZ trip, June 2015

1. Cierra graduates from Seminary - May 24th

2. Beautiful inside and out!

3. Memorial Day at Grandma and Grandpa Capener's grave in Riverside.
Front: Bekah, Olivia, Mallory, Caleb, Chris & Mia. Back:Grandma,
Mike & Emily, Peter, Noelle, Tammy & Cierra with Zander, Josh.

4. We then went up to Whitney cemetery and then up to see U. Marc.
His rhubarb is twice the size of ours, and he shared a lot with us.
He has  a huge knife he whacks off the leaves with one slice.

5. Then we went to Casper's ice cream on the way home

6. Little Ameliea is growing so much. She rolls her tongue and chews on it, which is a Capener trait.

7. Tuesday night we went to Bountiful and had dinner with Marion, Cory, and Kate.
We had such a fun evening of food (Madarin) and visiting, but I failed to take any pictures.
On Wednesday, we had promised Ned and Rosie that we would work their evening shift at the temple for them and then they took ours while we are in Arizona.
8. So we went to band that day to hear Josh play in the band. They sounded very good.

9. Saturday was Virginia Potter's funeral. I still can't believe she is gone.
We had a life-long friendship. We didn't stay in touch enough the last 5 years.

10. In the afternoon we helped Daniel and Ellen finish cleaning their old apartment and
then went up to see their new one on campus. It is so much bigger. Here they are
in their kitchen.

11. That night we went to McCammon, Idaho to Rick Hood's daughter Kristi's reception.
It was good to see them and I'm really glad we went.

12. We had terrible wind on Monday and Tuesday. Tom's kids are helping to clear all the branches and leaves away. I didn't get the camera quick enough. We have a huge pile in the back.

13. Cierra graduates from High School on Thursday. It's still hard to believe, but
it is just the beginning!

14. We left after the temple on Friday and drove to St. George to see Olivia
get baptized on Saturday. It was so good to see them, and Olivia
looked like an angel. Olivia and Peter.

15. Katrina and Olivia in front. Peter, Tammy and Bekah.

16. We left St. George about 6:30 and got to Paul's about 1:00 a.m. our time and midnight Arizona
time. Audrey was still up and waiting for us.
The next morning Chloe couldn't wait to show me her "Magic Tree House" journal.
It is so cute. Lacey reads her the books and she finds pictures on the internet about what the
book talked about and she draws pictures while she listens. It is so cute.
There is a good idea for all you grandkids who are reading Magic Tree House books.
There are quite a few of you:)

17. Sunday night walk

18. Making pillow cases with our Arizona kids. Chloe is squeezing the foot peddle while
I am guiding the pillow case.
19. Sammi is turning her pillow case inside out.

20. A Krispy Kreme opened up in the town next to Buckeye, so
we had to try it out. Chloe, Sammi, Levi.

21. Sammi, Levi, Chloe at bedtime with our new pillow cases.

I love you all very much. It's been so good to continue spending time
with so many family members.
Las Monday during the terrible winds, My first cousin's son and his family, Lance Capener had
a terrible accident at Bear Lake and he and his two daughters and a friend were all
killed. I know I have sent you articles and thank you so much for all of your prayers.
I had a long talk with Suzanne Capener (sister to Lance) and there have been a lot of tender
mercies involved. He older brother gave Kathy (Lance's wife) a beautiful blessing while she
was in the Logan hospital. Many wonderful things were said and I'm sure it brought a lot of comfort.
It was their time to go, and their son still has a mission to fulfill in this life. He if 17.
The Lord is in charge, and when we know that, there is a peace that can carry
us through any trial.
I love you all very much. We are so blessed.
