Sam's Baptism & Southern Reunion

Sam turned eight and we were off to his Baptism
in Ridgecrest, California.
1. I loved the vinyl family tree Stacey just put up.
It was a very cute way to do their pictures.

2. Sam helping me make Jello for the baptism dinner. It is A. Robinette's
recipe, but I had forgotten about it. Make one large orange jello according to the box,
Make one large box COOKED lemon pudding according to the box, and
mix them together. Add two cans mandarin organges and put in a very large
cake pan, or regular and square one. Put in fridge. After it's set up,
mix one Small box of instant lemon pudding. Add some whip cream and spread on top.

3. Paul's family all came over for the baptism and then they were on
spring break, so they stayed until the following Thursday.
Levi sniffed out the train bucket within the first 5 minutes. He
and Maren had a great time together.

4. The baptism was beautiful. While waiting for Sam to change clothes,
the grandkids sang songs and Audrey played for them.

5. Stacey's sister Nicolle lives in Ridgecrest and her parents also came
up for the baptism. Here we all are!

6. John holding Ruth Ellen, Stacey, Danny;
Kirsten, Maren, Timmy, Sam

7. There were beautiful flowers just outside our window at John's.
I told Audrey I didn't like taking just pictures of nature, so she helped me out.

8. What?!? An organ and a grand piano? She had a balll.

9. In the boys bedroom upstairs, there are two "Elf Doors" that lead into a storage
area the width of the room. Yes, this was the perfect place to play games
and all the kids slept there.

In case you wondered if their family likes Star Wars.

10. Ruth E. getting to know A. Lacey. She is such a happy baby.

10. John planted quite a few trees ad they were all starting to get leaves.

11. Chloe and Timmy were the best of friends.

12. Playing Deer Tag with the two Dad's. They had so much fun.
The stairs go up to the Grandparents sleeping quarters. It was great!

13. Time to read scriptures.

14. Of course, a skit was in order.

15. The jello was a hit, so the kids made it again the next day.
They are spelling jello.
Kirsten, Sammi, Elise, Nikki, Danny

16. Creativity Time (Nikki and Danny)

17. Screen time with the twins on their 1st birthday.

18. Monday we all headed out to LA to the Children's Science Museum
It was about a 2 1/2 hour drive, but the kids had a ball that day. John had
to work, so Paul drove his van and we took three kids in our car.
 19. See us in infa-red light

20. In the arctic room.

20. They were fascinated with the scuba diver feeding the little shark.

21. This affected me the most. It was wonderful to be with Dad and see and
hear him tell about the space shuttle. They have the Endeaver there and it
is huge. He was even sharing with the guide good information.
Your dad worked hard for many years to support us all.

22. Beautiful rainbow coming home. It came all the way to the road.

Empty beds in the boys room.

The Elf doors.

23. Sleeping? Well, not quite. But it didn't matter.
Grandpa and Grandma were out in the grandparents apartment.

24. Their new dining room table - We really did fit.
25.  Levi was fascinated with little baby Ruth E.

26. Yes, more jello.
Levi, Elise, Olivia, Maren

27. They had a ball playing their own version of ping pong.

28. Olivia and Sammi

29. Nikki and Katrina

30. Back to the trains for Levi and Maren

31.The Japanese internment camp during World War II for the
Japanese citizens called Manzanar. It was very interesting,
and many lessons to be learned.
32. This was one of the mess halls where they ate. The kids had
to show me the big pot to cook in. They think our family
needs one this size. I don't have the stove that would handle it or the
the strength to lift it.

33. Earning their Junior Ranger Badges. I think we all learned a lot.

34. Back to John's with games and then the kids planned a talent show,
and it was so good. It was a great way to end the reunion.
Here they are singing
"Friend Like You" from Aladdin - You could tell that
Bekah had produced a play before. It was excellent!

35. Although Audrey hadn't practiced with them, she did a beautiful
job of "Let It Go" from Frozen

36. The closing number was "I Am a Child of God" by all.

37.Our good-bye pictures

38.We came home to grand kids here at home! We are watching
Tom's kids, and making refreshments and doing a presentation
on food storage at our ward. Big day.

39.Saturday I was the Keynote Speaker at the Family History Fair
in Brigham City. They had a very good turnout. This is the first
time I have been the speaker. I prepared it before I went to California.
I was pleased with how it went, and received a lot of compliments, I felt
I had received it all by inspiration. Then I also did my regular story class.
Robin stayed home and babysat, and then we had made a great big
berry o-cream pie to celebrate Marri's birthday. It was so fun to have them here
before the cousins went to see "Sound of Music."
We had a wonderful visit with Rob and Emily while they were gone.

40. We also sang to Max who has a birthday along with Kaden on the 17th.

41. While they were gone, Cecily, Taylor, and Mallory did a
"mystery skit."

We have had a wonderful month. I think it's time to begin a
tradition of having a southern reunion. It would be fun to have as
many as can come down. Maybe we can do that every other year.
Each year we will still have one up north.

WE HAVE EARLEY PARK ON THE 15TH & 16TH OF JULY
SINCE IT'S MY BIRTHDAY, HOW ABOUT LET'S DIVIDE EVERYTHING
UP AND HAVE SOME NEW IDEAS AND UNUSUAL FOOD.
(Well, at least different.)

It would also be fun to go up to Willow Flat on Thursday in conjunction with
it or something else.
