Week of April 21, 2014

Achievement Days
We made caramel brownies and colored the Plan of Salvation pictures so the
girls can have their own copy.

After District Meeting, the Zone Leader wanted to go to his favorite place to eat in our area.
It is called the Yellow Deli. It was way cool. Here are the Sisters and Elders in our Disctrict.
The sister on the right is from Taiwan:)

We had a service project for one of the members we've been teaching.
They used a power wash to wash the algae off the trailer.
We have been telling Sister Van Dyke that Heavenly Father loves her very much ever since we got here. When she found out about the service for them, she said: "Maybe God really does love me."
Dad and the Elder's Quorum President

Surprise!!! Grandma and Grandpa are at Uncle John and Aunt Stacey's house!!!!!
Sam, Danny, Kirsten, and Timmy eating A. Tesha's Swedish Pancakes.

KIRSTEN ate four great big pancakes. So Grandma showed her how to do it.
Both Danny and Kirsten can make them.

This Is kefir. It is pretty much drinkable yogurt. EVEN GRANDPA TRIED IT!

John getting Maren ready for church. She has grown so much!

The southern California Jensen's

John was put in the Bishopric and Dad came down to ordain him a
High Priest. It was a wonderful day.

When Maren is sleeping, she loves Grandma! We are getting warmed up, probably just in time to go.
Sam and Timmy doing Home school .

We are going to publish this now, but watch for updates later tonight!

Week of April 14, 2014

Dad's B-day pictures are on last week's blog

So busy, yet not much we can take pictures of.
Now the snow is gone, I wanted to get a better picture of the side of the hill that is filled with old tractors. This time there was a fire engine. It's still pretty wet, so maybe when it's dryer we can get closer.

For all those who love tractors, cars, etc.

Just before we left Sis. Webster at the nursing home, we asked if there was anything we could do for her. She thought for a minute and said she wanted a banana split more than anything. She had wanted it for months. Well, we checked with the staff and they said we could take her for one. We worried afterward that she might get sick from it, but we haven't heard, so no news is good news.!

Sister Weber eating a banana split from Stewarts. It is a gas station with the best milk, chocolate milk, and ice cream in the state of New York. (That is their ad & we believe it.)

A very happy Sister Webster. Dad and I shared one, and I could hardly finish my share.
She ate it all. We were a little worried she might sick from it.
She looks very happy and enjoyed it very much.

So while we were at Joe's he showed us how to cook Swedish Pancakes/crepes. The worst part about it is it takes so long to cook one thin pancake at a time. He cooked it on his big electric griddle. He just filled the pan up with the batter being careful not to let it run out the little grease hole. Anyway, I tried it on our frying pan (found out about this kind of pan while visiting Tom) and it worked great. It was so much faster!
Tesha's recipe that we used: 2 eggs, 1/2 c. flour, 1 c. milk, 1/4 t. salt
Mix and pour. It made three of this size pancake. I think they triple it for their family.

Look what Dad got in the mail for his birthday! It was so wonderful to see the kids and they sent a CD along with the picture that had many more on it. I can't believe how grown up they all look. Thank you SOOOOOO much.

(Really, I not sending a hint, but thought you would all like to see their new pictures.)

NIKKI WANTS TO PUT TOGETHER A COOKBOOK.
THAT IS ONE REASON WHY I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE PANCAKE. I THINK WE NEED TO PUT TOGETHER ONE, BECAUSE I HAVE FOUND SO MANY WONDERFUL RECIPES AS I'VE GONE AROUND TO YOUR HOMES.

MAYBE YOU COULD EMAIL TO HER OR SOMETHING.
Anyone want to help her out with it?

Love you all, I have sent several messages in the last two days, so check your email.

Week of April 7

Monday
Back to our mission life!

Spending a lot of time with Brother Kruppenbacher (on the left) and his brother Charles with me typing in the # and who is in the picture with Dad scanning.
We have now scanned over 250 pictures for him and will start uploading some on FT soon.

Achievement Days - the girls wanted to do a service project of cleaning the park next to the Hudson River and then they played afterwards. They promised they wouldn't drown.

Starting to pass some maple trees - notice the buckets

Couldn't help but take pictures - Wouldn't that be fun in the back yard
Any takers of who wants to build them?

This is at Brother Bulich's home, so I asked if I could take a picture.
He feeds us every other Friday. He is such a good cook. The ham was wonderful, the Kale boiled with a pinch of brown sugar that I had seconds of, and the mashed potatoes are 80% turnip and 20% potatoes and they were soooo good. Oh, peach-mango juice to drink.

Beautiful view from Windham up in the Catskills by the ski resort
No, we weren't skiing, just looking for a lost member

What better thing to do on Dad's birthday than tramp through a cemetary
The snow was gone and the weather was beautiful
And no, we did not even hope to find any family; it was just a cemetary

Happy Birthday with Grandma Jensen's Caramel Brownies
Finally, I have a good recipe from Catharine who brought them to Leah's blessing (It didn't work when I used Grandma's cookbook, so if you want it, let me know)
Oh yes, chocolate milk with a special meaning:)

Love you all. I have sent out some links to some videos to watch for Easter.
He lives. He really does. And He knows each one of us, individually.
My testimony has grown of Him and His Atonement so much. Choose to make Him an important part of your life.
We are speaking at church Sunday, so we will send you our talks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR APRIL BIRTHDAY FAMILY
IT WAS GOOD TO TALK TO YOU ALL

Week of March 31, 2014

In New Hampshire

Of course it's a smile!

Family Home Evening - Preparing for conference. A new idea for listening with small kids.
They had selected a few words like: love, missionary, serve, Jesus, and had bowls of treats by the pictures of those words. When Pres. Monson said the word, they had a treat from that bowl.
They caught on quite fast and would pick up the words he said.

I loved the video chats we had this week with everyone. I knew the little ones would change, but I was also surprised at how much Noelle & Marri are looking so much older - such beautiful young women. And Josh's voice is deeper! My, my, everyone is growing up so much.
Zander and Caleb - They were the first family and I took this picture. I didn't think of taking the whole family until I talked with the next family.

Ben's favorite snack - a pepper from the fridge

It was kind of warm and Tesha wanted a trip to the park to play. Grandma stayed in the car with little Leah. Here is Ben.
 Tesha, Zach, and Grandpa
A visit to the river - Zach and Joe
 Ben, Tesha, Zach, and Joe

David, Alaina, Matthew, Amanda, Robert
 Cecily, Marri, Jetta, Sophie, Scott
Cambria, Taylor, Tom holding Gabe, Mel, Max

Spencer wearing his eyepatch to help his eye get better, but where did the mustache come from?
Today's technology
Marion in the back with his boys - Issac, Steven, Jared with the mustache now, and Spencer
John came home, so he joined the group, but Steven didn't come back
Daniel and Ellen - It was so good to meet and talk to Daniel.

Ben holding little Leah - He loves her so much

Leah's first bath!
So cute and clean!
Daddy time!

They have a wonderful children's museum here and the first Friday night of every month the admission is only $1 per person.
Zach and Ben with dinosaur bones

I remember this from San Francisco Exploratorium. This one stands up and they push on one side and then can see it on the other side.
Here's my handprint!

I loved the display about the mills. The Cocheco River was right outside and the big textile mill still standing, of course used for something else like offices or apartments.
It made me think of my Grandma Eleanor Laycock Edgington

Who is having the most fun with the train? Ben, Joe, or Zach?

The river and mill just across the sidewalk

More family - Back-Paul, Lacey, Nikki, Elise
Front - Audrey holding Levi, Sammi, Chloe

Back - John, Danny, Kirsten, Stacey
Grown-up Maren, Sam, Timmy

My Mike

Thank you all for a wonderful week. I loved our visit with Joe & Family. We had such a wonderful time. I so needed the time with all of you to see and visit. Thank you so much for filling my family well. I am ready to go back to our mission. I have missed it.

Conference was amazing. It is too hard to pick a talk or even a thought, but here is one or two (I didn't put quote marks because it might not be exact):

True righteousness can change the world. and You will find safety in the winds that blow and you will feel the rock like strength in the Savior - Elder Holland

It is after morning conference - loved it all, but Pres. Uchdorf, Elder Bednar, and Pres. Monson
I bear witness to the truthfulness of Christ and that he is my rock and can be yours also. It will carry us through ALL the whirlwinds of life.

I love you all more than you can know. Grandchildren, there were a lot of messages to you at this conference, also listen to the Priesthood session, for you are a "choice" generation.
They must have grandkids like mind, or they wouldn't have said that:)
