September - More Canning and Soccer!

The grass has never looked better. His sprinkling system kept
everything green. The hill actually had grass. He put up a
big piece of plastic down the east side of the hill, put
some liquid soap on it and the ran water on it.
1. The kids had so much fun sliding down the hill.

2. Riverside soccer is so much fun. Chris's Zander
and Mia played and Joe's Ben, Zach, & Leah played.
They were either at the same time or back to back,
so we saw a lot of soccer games.
This is Zander in the front.

3. Zach is on the far right. All the kids have improved
so much from last year. It's great to see the growth.

4. It also worked out great to be on our mission on
Wednesday and Thursday. We would stop on our way
home and watch Rob's three, Cecily and Scott and Jennetta.
Marion's Isaac also played. The last game Isaac played
opposite Cecily and Scott. It was great.
Jennetta is on the left.

5. Isaac running up in the center. One game he scored
two or three goals. I can't remember exactly.

6. The first sign of cement - our footings. We had
to leave, but Joe and Tesha marked them. They are now
buried, so it's deep in the foundation of the house:)

7. Joe's family's hand prints. Christ is our foundation.

8. We harvested quite a lot of peas and the most beans
that have ever come from the garden. Yes, it's Tesha's
green thumb and Joe's drip irrigation.

9. Peter spoke at Riverside Constitution day. Marjean
Macfarlane had some fun activities and great prizes.
This is Caleb, Zander, Mia, and Chris.

10. Peter did an amazing job. I wish he would teach
another night class on government/history.
We cannot forget the past, and we need it to
recognize what is happening and needed in the present.

11. It is nice to be in the Salt Lake area two
times a week. It does give us the opportunity to
spend some time with our grandchildren on the
south end. This is Dad, Jennetta, and me on
her birthday. We got to take her out for ice cream.

12. Emily had a Harry Potter party for Jennetta.
It was amazing. She even had a skit that lit up.

13. This Jennifer Hornberger, Erin and me. I taught her
in first grade at McKinley and then after our mission they were
in our ward. I went to school with Erin's dad. She invited us
to her missionary farewell in Lehi, and we drove down.
It was good to see them again. He husband died in a tragic
accident about 3 years ago. She has remarried now and so happy.

14. Mia, Leah, and Catharine on a Sunday afternoon having
so much fun running races.  Three little toe-heads. They're so cute.

15. Linda is always happy, especially when she has
something to eat. Tesha is doing pickle relish and Linda is
cleaning out the cucumber.

16. And now it is peaches.

17. Frames for the foundation

18. Pouring of the cement! It took three trucks.

19. Mike has no teacher prep time at school this semester,
so he held a correcting party with Dad and I. Linda, Luke, Dad,
Mike, my place, Leah.

20. More soccer - Cecily

21.  After the last game: Scott, Dad, Isaac, Cecily and me.

22. We all decided to tryout for the play at the
Old Barn, "Best Christmas Pageant Ever."
Ellen and Samuel
(Chris, Mallory, Caleb, Zander, Mia, Bekah, Dad
and I, Joe and all his family, Ellen and all her family
made it in.)

23. Our monthly FHE gathering. We are sure enjoying it.

24. It's been a big canning season. The Weaver's in our
ward gave us all these apples for applesauce.

25. Joe made an Apple puff pancake. It was a work of art.

It's the law of the harvest. It takes work to plant or even
just obtain/harvest, but it is sure wonderful when all those
quart jars are sealing.
I think we'll do our Christmas party on the first Saturday in
December. We'll have a brunch at 11:00 and other activities
to be announced, then everyone will go to the matinee at 2:00.
I can't believe the year is almost over. Another year with so
many blessings to be grateful for. I love you all.
