Week of June 2, 2013

Sunday
I was able to go to church while Ellen stayed home with Dad.  We have a lot to be thankful for that dad is home from the hospital and things look better in the recuperation process.  Sue brought the boys up and it was so good to visit with them again and Chris and Colleen's family came down and we had a good visiting and play time for several hours.

Ellen wanted a picture for her Facebook so she took this one of her nursing subjects.

 Monday

As I was doing my reading in the morning, I heard several honks of a horn.  It was the Book Mobil and I thought this is the official start of the Summer.  as Ellen walked through I told her to go get dressed and we walked down to the Book Mobil and stopped and got Noelle, Mallory and Caleb.
It was good to have Ellen here all day, we worked for an hour in the garden and got a lot of House work done.  Plus reading of Book Mobile books.

Nothing like the Country Book Mobil.  The Librarian is reading Caleb his books on Dump Trucks while the rest of us are loading up on books.

Tuesday

More work in the garden.
Dad decided he was tired of his beard after two weeks

and so he shaved it off.

While Ellen and I worked in the garden and harvested Cilantro, Radishes, Rhubarb and Lettice.  Since I can't write thank you notes, Ellen and I made Rhubarb Crisp in small container and took them around to the people who had brought us food.

Wednesday
While Colleen went with the Relief Society to do a Family Home Evening a the nursing home, the kids came down to help Ellen and I in the garden.  we recruited more help.

Get those weeds Caleb

Were trying to get all of the weeds out of the potatoes.  Mallory is an excellent weeder and Caleb puts all of the weeds in a dump truck and hauls them off.

Josh is busily planting more hot pepper plants and watering and staking out the squash seeds that Noelle has planted

Noelle was hot and tired and decided that an inside job would be good.  She cleaned up the bottom hut which was very messy.  Aunt Ellen was very happy to find out she had cleaned up the bottom hut because that was what she was going to have to do.  Beautiful Job Noelle.

After Gardening, we had Otter pops and read stories until Colleen came home.
Then Tesha called and wanted to know if she and the boys could come over and help.  They came over for a fun afternoon of Playing

Ben Playing in the Sprinklers

Zach, Tesha and Ben in the Sprinkliers

 Thursday
This day seemed to be filled with taking care of each other and reading Ellen's book before she gets ready to send it off.

Getting Dad's knee wrapped in Saran Wrap, ready for a shower.
Ellen took us over to Logan for Dad's knee doctor appointment.   They X-rayed the knee and it looked beautiful.  It is straight and alligned very well.  The doctor was very happy with how it looked.

Friday

Dad had a doctors appointment in the morning with Doctor Schow.  Everything looks good from the Dirrhea  incident.  In the afternoon, I went to see Dr. Bitner and had my cast removed and now I'm trying to get my fingers moving again and got a splint.
Mike, Joe and Ellen all came over to have a cookout/birthday party for Tesha and to work in the garden.

Dad relaxing outside and getting some sunshine after explaining to Mike how to hill the potatoes.

Ellen, Joe and Tesha got all the potatoes ready for Dutch oven potatoes, Yum.  Watch out, Joe's going to get them all.

Chris and his family came down for the playing of games and cooking hot dogs.
Playing of Card Games and Avalon.

After Games, Joe cut the boys hair
Joe Cutting Ben's hair

Zach got his hair cut too, and then Tesha Cut Joe's.   We finished off with a late night game of Partner Rook, with me and Tesha and Joe and Mike and of course the women won.  And it was midnight.

Saturday - Happy Birthday Elise! 12 years old and a Young Woman
Mike had Play practice, Ellen had a Dentist appointment.  When Mike got home from Play practice, he finished hilling the potatoes and then we spent the rest of the day watering the garden and lawn while working on Ellen's Book.

1828 Webster's Dictionary Word for the Week:
Charge- To give directions to; to instruct authoritatively; command or earnest request;” (Alma 35:16 “that he might give unto them every one his charge, separately, concerning the things
pertaining unto righteousness”)
Alma continued to teach his sons, even as adults.
I love you all. Thank you for your continued prayers and help. It's been a better week than last week!
