Week of June 30

Sunday

Adam is the last grandchild of Marion & Catharine Jensen. It was his mission farewell and he left on Tuesday for his mission to Chili.  It was so good to see everyone. Billy and Janice with their families are in Missouri, Daniel is in Wisconsin, and the rest are close around. He gave a wonderful talk. He just graduated from High School and is part of the 'Missionary Wave.'

Monday
Back to the 'Gardening and Therapy' day. Boneless pork spare ribs were on sale, so I bought a bunch and cooked it all up in the big pressure cooker, pulled it all apart, and made Barbecue sauce so it is ready for the reunion. Joe, Ellen, & Josh did a service project for one of A. Margaret's friends and moved a lady out of her apartment in 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Tuesday
We picked a lot of peas.  This week we have really been harvesting the peas. They are so good. New peas and potatoes sounded so good, so Dad dug up some potatoes and it was so good. His knee is making progress because he said it didn't hurt as much to dig these potatoes as it used to hurt before the surgery when he dug potatoes.

Ellen and I went to the temple in the afternoon.

Wednesday
We did a little extra cleaning in the house along with therapy. I went to therapy to see what it would be like for me. After checking with the insurance and finding out they cover 100% for 20 visits, I think I'm going to go. Maybe it will speed things up. Ellen made lasagna for Mar and the boys who came later that night. Mike did not have play practice so it was game time!

Thursday & Friday
We were totally on holiday time. We had a great time at the Riverside celebration. Tom had called and they wanted to make a long, 'quick' trip to San Jose, CA. There is a strong job possibility there with the Boy Scouts and it would be an advancement. They wanted to check out the area and see if they could actually live in such a populated place, actually pay the higher prices, and if the schools would be ok.
Joe and Tesha were in Idaho, but came back Friday morning. Now it was real serious game time.

Chris and Colleen were in charge of the children's games.

Popcorn and slushy assembly line. Chris at the popcorn, John grinding ice, Josh dishing it up, and Spencer putting on the flavoring.

Closer up

Mallory and Jared checking out their 'loot' from the games

Too many to fit in one car, so Mike and Ellen decided to walk home while we took the first load home. Of course, Mallory Jared, Steven, Spencer joined in.

Meeting Tom and Mel in Salt Lake to get the kids. We took Ellen down to meet Shalee Cook in Draper to go to Stadium of Fire in Provo and then a mission friend's reception the next day.

As we started to eat dinner at the park, Taylor's tooth came out. Don't worry. Even though she was at Grandma's the Tooth Fairy still found her.

Fun at Riverside Park. Cambria loved to swing, and had no fear of going high.

Max, digging and digging

Just 'shootin the breeze'.

Friday
Early Friday morning Taylor, Max, Cambria, and I went out to the garden and picked peas. I took a really cute picture with my phone, but it said it was too big of a file to send on my e-mail. I did send it to Tom & Mel.

Getting ready for the big party!

Spraying the roller just right so it spun very fast.

Huge game of Avalon
Tesha, Spencer, Malloy, Cierra, Noelle, Steven, Josh, and John

A 5 hour game of Legacy Risk? At least it seemed like it.

Still time to play a rousing game of 'Deer Tag' with Joe and Tesha. What are we going to do without them?
Let the game begin!

Mallory, Noelle, Tesha, Spencer, John, Steven, and back to Caleb

Ellen had a missionary friend come out to a reception and she came to our house to stay. Dad and Ellen took her to the airport the next morning. Here we are in the living room visiting. Cambria kept bringing in 'nature things' she found and sharing them with everyone, including Lydia, Ellen's friend. It was so cute as we sat with our collection of leaves, flowers, & rocks.

On couch: Lydia, Ellen, Colleen and Zander, Caleb

Saturday - Moving Day for Rob's Family
Marion and the boys left in the morning and took Joe so they could help Rob's family finish moving. It is very hard to be so useless. Sounds like it all went well. Chris & family also went down to help and bought their piano. It is much better than the one they currently are using, but it served them well for the past 4 years or so.

Ryan and family stopped by on Saturday afternoon. It was so fun to visit with them, and Tom's kids had so much fun with more cousins!

Birthday cousins finally meet: Max and Kaden were both born on the 17th of March

5 cute clean kids. All bathed and 'ready' for bed.

1828 Dictionary for the Week

We all feel ourselves in 'daunting' situations. I think that is what I have been experiencing these last 6 weeks with Dad's knee and my arm. I have felt very overwhelmed. I think as I was reading this in Alma, it helped me to understand the word 'Daunted' and know I was suffering from that and I had to fight against it. It is a very discouraging feeling. Pray really helped.  Thank you for all your prayers in our behalf.

Daunt/Daunted- “To repress or subdue courage; to intimidate; to dishearten;/Daunted-checked (check-to stop) by fear; intimidated” (Alma 60:4 Pahoran speaking of the kingmen-“and have daunted our freemen that they have not come unto you.”)

I love you all. I'm looking forward to this weekend gathering.
