January, 2019 - Pictures from past, Ordinations, Life

January has been a busy/not busy month. Since Dad and I
have been down with hurt knees, we'v done a lot of jobs while
we've been off our knees. One big one we did was to sort
through family pictures. We have an envelope for each of you with
pictures to give to you and also some to just enjoy looking at.
We thought we'd come to your place on a Sunday after our church
and have fun with pictures and finish identifying some that we
don't know. It's been a lot of fun looking through them.
1. Here is a picture of Cierra, Noelle, and Josh. Time has
sure gone by fast. Zander looks just like Josh. Sooo cute!

2. I'm pretty sure this is Audrey as Mary and Spencer as
Joseph. Kissing cousins in the 2nd picture.

3. We finally got Samuel his Christmas gift.
A Pokemon pillowcase. Daniel loved Pokemon
as a young boy, and so does Samuel.

4. On the 12th of January, Dad and I went to Ammon, Idaho
to visit U. John and A. Annette for John's 80th birthday.
It was so good to see so many of their kids. It was like going
to one of our family parties, but they aren't quite so many.
It was such a good day. That's when we decided for sure
we need a Capener Reunion. Which is now scheduled for 6th of July.

5. Uncle John giving a beautiful message to his family.

6. Looking into their living room. Wyn is left bottom corner,
Corinne is in the back, can't tell the others.

7. Jordan. His family couldn't come, but it was very good to
see him. Remember all the "great times" we had when
he came and spent time at our house? I'm sure I didn't
know the half of what went on.

8. Zach's birthday was also on the 12th. We had a little
party with him. They really wanted a cousin party, but
sickness was going clear through the family. It took awhile
for it to finish.

9. The ordinations begin! Here is Caleb after
he received the Aaronic Priesthood on the 13th of January.

10. Then after our ward, we went to Tom & Mel's for dinner
and such a wonderful visit. We'd like to come around and visit
one family at a time on a Sunday. We had such a great time with
them. They would ask us questions about when we were younger and we had
a great time. Mel makes the best Curry, hmmmmm.

11. Dad, I'm holding Aidan, Cam, Gabe, Max, & Taylor

12. One night Tesha made a whole big pan of vegetables.
It was so good. She cut them all up, put them in a roaster bag,
sprinkled some Italian seasonings, added some olive oil, and
baked them on, maybe 400, for 40 minutes? It was soooo good.

13. Little Linda Jean is sure growing!

14. Such a cute picture drawn by, I think, Sophia. It's Emily,
Rob, Marri, Sophie, Cecily, Scott, and their dog.
I love children's drawings.

15. Another picture and memory from the past. This is
Katrina in front of the Salt Lake Temple when she was
sealed to her mom and dad. What a wonderful blessing
to have her in our family, and a wonderful plan that she
is sealed to her parents as if she was born in the covenant.

16. We babysat for Ellen and Daniel to go to the
temple. Dad popped a ball from a little truck and
Samuel just squealed with delight. We had so much
fun with them. Grand kids are so much fun.

 17. On Sunday the 20th, we spoke in church in Beaver Dam
and then went back to Belmont 2nd, picked up Caleb and
headed up to Evanston to see Robert get ordained a Deacon.
It was so fun to have Caleb with us, and so exiting to see
Robert get the Priesthood. We then went to David's and had a
nice meal and then headed out to go to Rob's to see Scott get ordained.
I'm holding Matthew, Dad is holding Eric, Robert, Alaina, Amanda
holding Jacoby, David, and Caleb is sitting in the front.

18. Emily's family was gathered for a family party, so they
decided to do the ordination then. It was a first for us to be
so outnumbered! There was just Caleb, Dad & I.
A member of the bishopric came and Sue & Isaac came
over. It was such a great day.

19. Isaac, Scott, & Caleb
When they first announced that all boys turning 12 during the
year could be ordained in January, and all girls turning 12 go into Young Women,
we thought that was great. Another hastening of the work.
The Lord needs these fine young men and young women to be
involved in YMYW at the beginning of the year.
Dad and I weren't prepared for that first Sunday in January
when our bishop was asking the young men
to stand an be sustained as each office was being mentioned.
We both felt such a strong witness of the Spirit that this was
from the Lord and is the right thing. It was truly a manifestation
from the Spirit. We know they can go forward and serve Him well.

20. What a pitiful pair we have been this whole month.
Dad has done incredibly well with his recovery from having
his knee done. He walks beautifully. I finally got my knee scoped
and the doctor fixed the torn meniscus and cleaned things up.
The pain that I've felt since I fell Thanksgiving morning is gone.
Now I've just got to do the therapy to get the rest of the movement
back, but it is coming quickly. Not near as big a surgery as Dad's.

21. I babysat the kids while Dad, Joe, Tesha, and Linda went
to an Elder's quorum activity. I had a ball watching "Bedknobs
and Broomsticks" with the kids. Ben, Zach, Catharine, & Leah.

22. Our 1st monthly Family Home Evening for the year.
We had a potato bar, cornbread, and plenty of treats. The
kids had so much fun playing and all the teenagers went across
the road to check out the sledding and then down to the railroad
tracks. They came in quite cold, but had a great time.

23. Then we had a short lesson about the temple, since we are
going to do baptisms for the dead on Saturday. We watch, "Walk Through
the Temple with Elder Walker" which has so many beautiful
pictures from a lot of different temples inside and out. It will be
the first time to go for Olivia and Caleb. It was great to watch it
on Joe's projector on the wall, and they have plenty of
couch space!  Front couch: Noelle, Katrina, Hunter Riley (Tammy's
friend's son), and Olivia.

24. We'll be celebrating all the birthdays for the month each
time. January birthday were Joseph, Zachary, and Michael Taylor.
Dad's lighting candles in the cupcakes. We also acknowledge that
it was Paul and Kirsten's birthday in January.

25. Dad, Ellen holding Michael, Joe, Zach, with Gabe
and Ben looking on. Happy Birthday!

 26. Zander has lost three teeth!

 27. Our babies this past year: Tesha holding Linda, Ellen
holding Michael, Mike holding Luke, and Tom holding Aidan.

We are so blessed. It's been a wonderful month in spite of
knee problems. Our family continues to grow and Heavenly
Father has poured out His blessing upon us. I'm so thankful for
the Plan of Salvation. Jesus Christ has every problem covered,
every sorrow He knows and can provide us peace. I'm so
thankful for the temples and the opportunity to make covenants
with Him that blesses our lives so much. I love you all, each
one individually, and every single grandchild is my favoritešŸ˜ƒ

P.S. One more party to end the month on. Joe and Tesha invited
Mike & Emily and Daniel and Ellen over to play Legacy Betryal
at House on the Hill. It was a fun night. Here's a few pictures:
28. Luke, Daniel, Ellen, Tesha holding Linda at the dinner table.

29. Ben and Leah are actually eating at the Grand kid's table.
After moving out the washer and dryer, we put in this table figuring
it would be great for the overflow from the table and let
grand kids eat there. Hence, the name, "Grand kids Table."
I'm not sure if anyone actually ate there until tonight. It became
more of a lost and found and a place to set things on. We had way too
many grand kids to even begin sitting there. So blessed.

 30. We watched the movie "Cocoa" downstairs while they
were playing the game, at least for a little while.
Luke, Michael, Catharine, Samuel.
They were very entertained.
