Family Life, twins, CA, March 2016

1. Daniel and Ellen helping me do the invitations for the baby shower.

2. We went to the movie with Tom and his family. It was, "The Good
Dinosaur." It was good, but not as much fun as watching
Cam's reaction.

3. Mia and Zander

. 4. We watched David's family while he and Amanda went to the temple.
A big game of Quirkle.

5. The twins are growing so much. They loved to have to have
Grandpa sit by them. They screamed when Grandma sat by them.
So guess what Grandpa did all afternoon?

6. So happy to have Dad and Mom back.
They were actually very easy to babysit. (As long as
they could see Grandpa.) David, Jacoby, Amanda, Eric

7. We had a family, Family Home Evening at our home. We had
Chris, Ryan, Ellen, Mike and families.

8. Hudson is growing so much!

9. Skit time! Jeffrey & Mike in the back.
Suzy, Kaden, Dusty, Caleb - great skit!

10. Ellen's baby shower. We had such a good time.
Sheila read a story she had written and we added adjectives & adverbs
in to the story. It was very funny.

11. Far left to right: Tracy Gentry, Mel, Emily (Mike's), Cierra, Mallory,
Noelle, Colleen, Kailyn (Cindy Fonnesbeck's daughter-in-law),
Cindy fonnesbeck,

12. Teresa Cornwall and Shaun came later with Shaun's new baby Joyce.

13. She got so many wonderful things. They are all set except for a car seat
which they have begun to look for. There are so many, so any suggestions.
(Ooops. Kirsten just reminded me they are all set except for the baby!)

14. We left right after the baby shower and drove 10 1/2 hours to John's
house in California. It was great to be here and be a part of his new
calling as the Bishop of their ward. They have only been here in this
ward for 6 months. We went on a Sunday walk later that day.
From the front to the back:
Timmy, Maren in stroller, Kirsten pushing, John, Sam on the bike
Danny and Grandpa. They have a really nice bike trail 1/2 block
from their house. We've walked almost every day.

15. Chico and Nena came on the walk also.

16. In front of John's home - Kirsten with Maren in the stroller, John,  & Dad

17. Story time with Maren, Grandma, and Timmy

18. Ruth E opening her baby gift from G-ma & G-pa - Baby blanket

19. Breakfast! Timmy, Maren, and Sam holding Ruth E.

20. I had to take this picture of Danny practicing the piano - so typical:)

21. Sam's writing assignment was to write the instructions for making
pens with the clay that we have been doing with some of you.

22. Stacey making French Bread. It was so good. The recipe is
at the end of the blog. She has the coolest pans to bake them on. Dad found them
on Amazon, so we are going to get some.

23. The view from just outside our "Grandparents Apartment."

24. Sam reading me Farmer Boy.

25. We had to do the experiment that was in the chapter.
If you have a jar of popped popcorn and a jar of milk each filled to
the brim, you can drop one popcorn at a time and the milk never spills.
I didn't believe it, but it worked.

26. Sam's first Cub Scout Meeting! He's excited:)

27. Little Ruth E.

 28. A picnic lunch - the weather is perfect.

29. John's home is filled with beautiful hardwood floors.
It's a good thing they have such great slave labor!!!!
Daniel and Kirsten
30. I then went to ballet lessons with Danny and Kirsten.
They were practicing their show. Here are some of the pictures:
Kirstn is doing the walking splits

We have had a wonderful week. It's been so fun to help with
home school and spend so much time with everyone.
John was gone for several nights, but we still had some very good visits.
Thought for the week is what they memorized this week for school:

GOOD TIMBER DOES NOT GROW WITH EASE,
THE STRONGER WIND, THE STRONGER TREES.
THE FURTHER SKY, THE GREATER LENGTH.
THE MORE THE STORM, THE MORE THE STRENGTH.
BY SUN AND COLD,BY RAIN AND SNOW,
IN TREES AND MEN GOOD TIMBERS GROW.
-Douglas Malloch

"And now, my sons, remember, remember that
it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is
Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build
your foundation; that when the devil shall
send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in
the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his
mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall
have no power over you to drag you down to
the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of
the rock upon which ye are built, which is a
sure foundation, a foundation whereon if
men build they cannot fall."
Helaman 5:12

Simple and very profound and true.
I love you all, Mom/Grandma
