Concerts and Parties, December, 2014

Daddy's history
1. We spent some time at the nursing home interviewing Dick Capener. I heard stories I haven't heard before. This can be seen from our deck. It is beyond the railroad tracks and the canal. It is the 160 acres that Grandpa Joseph Aaron Capener and his brother, Alfred farmed when they first settled here.
Neither of them were married yet. They lived in a wagon in the northeast corner and worked the farm. We interviewed Dick twice and went to Layton and interviewed my brother David also.

2. We also attended the Reflection's concert and saw Margaret.
It was a great concert.

3. My beautiful sister Margaret.

4. More concerts! Both Spencer and John performed in this one.

5. Spencer

6.John

7. Marion and the boys

8. Getting ahead start on games. I just happened to win this round.
Josh, Noelle, Mallory, me.

9.Two very beautiful girls, Cierra and Amelia.

10. Mike was up for the weekend because Emily was in Washington D.C. with her brother.
They had planned this trip long before they were engaged. Mike got our tree & decorations up with the help of some of Chris's kids. He is happy because he is talking to Emily.

11. Monday was Noelle's concert. She got there too late to go up and sing, but later that night she sang her part when the songs came on the radio. We watched the kids so Chris and Colleen could go to our house for a dinner we had made for them to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
I made suckers with Noelle to take to her friends at school.
12. Noelle and Zander

13. Playing pounce with Caleb and Mallory.

14. We went to the temple on Tuesday and then went to Marion's for a quick visit and did some Christmas shopping.
The temple was so beautiful. We haven't been to the Brigham one much.

15. We couldn't go to Steven's concert because Josh's will be at the same time,
so we got a personal concert! He plays the cello very well.

15. Isaac played a pretty piece on the piano for us also!

16. The next night we went to Josh's Jazz band concert.
They sounded great and we have loved all these Christmas concerts!

17. Joe and Tesha came to our house shortly before we came home from the concert.
It was so good to see them!
Of course, we had to play games afterward and then visited. They were going to go back to the Harris's, but we talked to long and they ended up sleeping at our home.

18. Anne came over today, Thursday, and we scanned and printed histories and pictures she had of Daddy and grandparents. She has it all organized. I am putting together quite a lot of information, and learning much. She had all of Daddy's missionary letters transcribed and typed up so nice.

19. We were pretty tired at the end of the day, but visited a bit before they left.

I'm looking forward to gatherings during the holidays. We keep pretty open and are ready to party when anyone wants to get together. Keep a close eye on the Family Facebook page.
I love Christmas and all the beautiful music.
Share the gift in all you do. I love you all.
