Last blog from our mission

Final Week
We finished up a history book of the branch by putting together pictures and events that we have done since we have been here. Since I had already done a bulletin board, I had the pictures and just had to add the information. It turned out well and didn't take too long.

Sheila Bingham did a bridal shower for the ward for Ellen.
It was SO fun. Ellen brought her laptop and I went to the church at 8:30 p.m. so I would have the internet and I attended the shower! It was so fun to see everyone, play games, and watch Ellen open her gifts. It didn't make me homesick, but as I sat there and just listened to the visiting, I cried for the blessings of friends and sisterhood we have each other. Thank you to Sheila & Kayleen for a wonderful time.

Cierra was there and this is her Young Woman's Medallion.
Congratulations!! It was so good to see Colleen and the kids. I can't believe Zander walking all over

Our last District Meeting. We made enchiladas and fed them lunch.
It is very satisfying to feed a bunch of Elders!

We took the YW to Ravena to Katie's concert (2nd from the left)

The night before we had a meeting at their house and we skyped Ellen and Daniel.
It was such a good activity as they shared their thoughts and goals about getting married in the temple. These girls just don't have any role models because there aren't any. They had a big screen TV. I wish I would have taken a picture. And they kissed for me:)
I did a 5x7 picture of the Boston Temple and wrote this on it. We framed it and gave it to each of the girls. It really ended up being a neat activity.

Trunk or Treat party at the church. Look at all the people! It was so wonderful.
There has been such a change in this branch from when we first came, and it's not because of us.

We made this quilt for Jasmine. She is the one with the cancer that we still need to pray for.

Last visit with Jasmine and her mom

Shopping for Ellen's wedding dress. It was very fun and the dress will be ready to pick up on Wednesday, so I still get to go in, have her try it on, and share the moment with her!

We had scanned pictures of Henny's parents & grandparents and I put them in a frame along with the picture of her baptism and then in the front of the Boston Temple when we did the baptisms for the dead. I also put this scripture in: D&C 2:"And he [Elijah] shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers."
Henny was so excited to be at the temple and do baptisms for her family.

We have loved sitting on the porch across the street with our landlords, Dick and Bobsey Roberg.
They are truly lifelong friends.

Then we took off at 3:00 to go up to Utica to the mission home. Pres. & Sis. Wirthlin took us out to dinner and we had such a wonderful visit. We spent the night and then took off at 7:00 the nixt morning. It was so good to be already 2 hours ahead. The first night we made it to Joliet, ILL and tonight we are in Grand Island, Nebraska. We have had beautiful traveling weather.
It was so good to hear parts of Isaac's baptism services. Thank you again, Emily. I love you all, and we are very excited to be almost home.
Our mission has been an experience that we will always hold very dear. We have friends we have met that will be friends for life and beyond. This is truly the Lord's work and we have seen His hand personally in our life and the lives of those we served.
And look at all the blessings our family has received!!!
