1.On Sunday the 19th we went to Salt Lake to our
Mission President's Homecoming. On the way down we stopped at the
Centerville Church that William Capener helped to build.
On the inside there was a display case with these pictures in.

2.I also found out that Grandpa and Grandma Capener lived in a
house in Salt Lake for almost 3 years before they bought the one they lived
in on 3rd Avenue. It was still standing. I was very excited.
3. It was very good to see President and Sister Wirthlin again.
I also had lunch with Aunt Pat, A. Robinette, A. Anita, and A. Silvia before Pat goes back home. It was so fun, but I forgot to take pictures. Then I had lunch on Wednesday with my two high school friends Linda James and Annette Baird. Again I forgot to take pictures. Some good visiting!
4. On July 24th we took Cierra to Yellowstone for a Senior trip from graduating from High School.
We stopped in Idaho Falls for lunch and there was an art show being set up.
We decided to get a souvenir of our trip here rather than at Yellowstone.
Cierra picked an owl and I got the Tetons.
5.Square ice cream at Swan Valley.
6. The church we attended when we lived in Palisades.
Dad taught school in Swan Valley from 1972 to 1975.

6. The movie house across the street where we saw movies on the weekend.
7. Our house is gone, but this is the spot. The tree has grown
since 1972. Now Cierra knows where her dad lived when he was Zander's age.
8. View across the street.
9. View down our street. We lived right behind U. Paul and A. Ellen.
Lars and his friends would play with Chris. They thought he was so cute.
10. In front of Palisades Dam where my brother Paul was in charge of it.
The housing was for people who worked at the dam, but he said since Dad was
teaching their children, he let him and one other school teacher live in the government housing.
I think we paid $49/month for a three bedroom home with yard, garden, and garage.
11. Next stop was Star Valley to stay with the missionary couple we were friends
with out in New York. They are the sight missionaries for the new
Star Valley Temple. They came in April for the groundbreaking and will be there
until the dedication. They sold their home in Arizona and bought one in Afton, Wyoming.
This is a wood carving of what the temple will look like.
12. Elder Helser's daughter is living with them and when she found out Cierra
liked horses took her for a horse ride after dinner. They were gone for over an hour.
Cierra was very excited.
13. View from their porch.
14. After they got back, Elder Helser put this cowboy hat on Cierra.
15. By the time we got to the temple spot it was getting dark. They had just put up
the first of the wall forms. It is to Cierra's left.
16. The next day we headed for Jackson Hole and the Tetons!
17. Getting our feet wet in Jenny Lake
18. Pictures while at Yellowstone National Park
19. This buffalo was walking down the rode which held up traffic for quite a ways.
When he came to the turn out, he went in and let the cars pass him. It was very funny.
20. Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
21. We saw everything in Yellowstone except Old Faithful on Saturday. We went to our hotel and got up Sunday morning and went to Sacrament meeting in West Yellowstone. They were prepared for a crowd, and it was packed and over flowing. There were 14 Deacons who passed the sacrament, and when they did the water, they each carried 2 trays. They did an excellent job.
Old Faithful the first time.
22. Lunch in front of the Lodge.
23. We walked around all the geysers at Old Faithful. It was very pretty.
24. Castle Geyser went off and even though it was a ways away, it was very cool
to see. It went off for over 20 minutes.
25. Ready for Old Faithful again.
26. We stopped in Rexburg at "Bear World" and saw more animals.
We rode in the car and watched them.
27. It was very fun to see the bears.
28. We drove through it again because Cierra hadn't seen a wolf.
This time we did!
29. Back home late Sunday night and off to paint Tom and Mel's house.
We took Steven, Marri, Sophie, and Cecily with us.
They were a wonderful help:)
30. It's a good think U. Tom didn't charge Cecily for all the paint she wore out with her!
It's been so busy this month, but filled with so many fun times.
WE LOVED THE TIME WE SPENT WITH CIERRA.
We hope this will be a tradition that will carry on through all of you.
I will be 82 when little Ruth Ellen graduates. I think she will have to take us.
Thank you everyone who has been helping Tom & Mel paint. It is going to
be so beautiful and I'm so happy to see you all help each other out.
