Week of July 28th

Sunday
I was in charge of the Sacrament meeting today for the pioneer program. We talked of the early settlers and how they served each other and worked together as a community. Then we had examples of how that is still happening today. Meb King spoke of the service given to him after his terrible accident. He did such a good job. I love our community. It made me think of how much more my parents did to serve than I did and I want to do more.

We went down to the Bingham's home to say good-by to Lacey and the kids. It's been so good to have them here. It's always hard to say good-by. Time goes by too fast.

Cute little Zach.

Tuesday
Robert picking a green pepper. Which Ben loves to eat them like an apple
Getting more water to the carrots.
Ben, Robert, and Ellen - Isn't irrigating the garden just a good excuse to play in the water?
 A late night walk

Thursday
Ready for the big packing day tomorrow.

Friday
Everything packed and weighed ready to go in. They have sure worked hard.
 Back of the U-Box

John and Stacey's family got here just after 6:00. It was so good to see them.  It seems like a long time since we've been together.  They came in to see Grandma Tia. She has cancer and is not doing well, so they came to visit her.
Maren is just starting to walk! Babies sure grow a lot when you don't see them very often.

Eating turkey steak for dinner.  They don't get it very often, and I can't serve it if I have very many people here, so we had a nice dinner with good visiting.

It doesn't take long before it is skit time.  When they came down, Chris' family also came to visit.

More skits. Timmy, Kirsten, Mallory, Caleb, Sam, with Danny and Jared in the background.

Mar and the boys came about 9:30. Just in time to start up a couple of games!
Games until at least 12:30. John finally sent them all to bed around 1:30. Timmy and Maren did not want to go to sleep.

Saturday
Let's play Clue before breakfast! More games in the Family Room.

Marion brought a proof copy of his book that will be out in January. This was Mike's response. Sorry it is so dark. I'm very impressed with how the book looks, reads, & how the 2nd book fits in.

Big game of Avalon - new to John's family.

Stacey's sister, Nicole, came over to play games along with Brad.
Marion, Shane, Nicole, John holding Timmy, and Brad Roring.
It was definatly a 'game-playing' weekend.

Grandpa frying the scones for Navajo Tacos.  I decided that turned out so well at the
family reunion I would do it again. It's been so good to cook in the downstairs kitchen and just walk out and eat.

Zachary is sharing his food with Maren.
We watched Rob's family all day, so the cousins had a great time together.  They had a conference to go to and then went house looking with Chris, who just renewed his Real Estate License.
After they all came home, it was time to introduce John's family to Avalon.

Late Saturday night sitting around the computer looking at pictures of the house they saw that day.
They are putting offers on 2 homes.

1828 Dictionary Word for the week:
Contrite-“Literally, worn or bruised. Hence, broken-hearted for sin; deeply affected with grief and sorrow for having offended God; humble; penitent;” (Helaman 8:15 “look upon the Son of God with faith, having a contrite spirit”)
I love you all. We have had so many great times together this month.
May we strive for a 'Broken heart and contrite spirit' in our worship of God.
